His conquest footprints reached as far as the Black Sea coast in Eastern Europe. In 1227, Temujin died of illness on the eve of the surrender of Xixia at the age of sixty-six. Before his death, he decided on a strategy of “destroying gold in the Song Dynasty”, and was secretly buried in Qichan Valley after his death. After the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty, he was given the posthumous title of Emperor Fatian Qiyun Shengwu, and the temple name was Taizu.
Temujin was a highly controversial figure. Since its rise, it has been regarded as a savage and cruel aggressor. Since modern times, there are also many scholars who believe that the war of conquest launched by the Mongol Empire under the leadership of Temujin and his heirs (the Golden Family) promoted the mutual influence between the Eurasian continents and had a profound impact on the subsequent process of world history.
